• What makes ThoughtfulFeeder different?

  ThoughtfulFeeder is a small UK-based business set up as we became frustrated by how confusing seasonal bird feeding advice had become. Our goal is simple: make it easier to feed garden birds safely throughout the year.
• Can I contact you directly?

  You can reach us at hello@thoughtfulfeeder.co.uk and you'll receive a personal reply within one working day. No AI, no chatbots, no call centres. If you'd like to discuss anything on a call, just let us know.
• Is my payment secure?

  Payments are processed securely by Stripe and we never see or store your card details.
• Do I have to commit long term?

  No. You can pause or cancel at any time, and there are no contracts or minimum terms. We designed ThoughtfulFeeder to feel simple and flexible, not like a complicated subscription service.
• Can I cancel or pause at any time?

  Yes. Email us and we'll cancel or pause your subscription before the next payment is taken, and confirm it in writing. If you'd prefer to pause for a season rather than cancel outright, we're happy to do that too.
• When will I be charged? Will there be any unexpected fees?

  You're charged £24.99 every three months, starting on the day you sign up. There are no hidden fees or surprise charges — the price you see is the price you pay. You'll receive a Stripe receipt by email ahead of every renewal.
• What if my birds don't take to the food?

  Email us and we'll make it right — either a replacement or a full refund. Birds can take a few days to find new food, so we'd suggest giving it a week first. But if something isn't working, just get in touch.
• What exactly is in each seasonal box?

  Each box is formulated for the season it arrives in. Spring and summer deliveries contain suet pellets and dried mealworms, in line with the RSPB's guidance to avoid seeds and peanuts during the warmer months. Autumn and winter boxes reintroduce energy-rich seed mixes alongside suet.
• How much food is in each delivery?

  Each box contains approximately 1.5–2kg — enough for one or two feeders used regularly over a season. If you have particularly busy feeders and need more, just drop us an email.
• Where is the food sourced?

  We source our bird food from trusted UK suppliers specialising in wild bird nutrition and seasonal feeding.
• Why shouldn't I just buy seed mixes from a supermarket or garden centre?

  Most general-purpose seed mixes are sold and used all year round, without regard for seasonal disease risk. They also often contain filler grains like wheat that most garden birds scatter and ignore, creating waste and attracting pests. ThoughtfulFeeder removes the guesswork — every delivery is chosen specifically for the time of year.
• How is the food delivered, and how heavy are the boxes?

  Every box is sent by Royal Mail Tracked 48. Delivery is free with no extra charges. Boxes weigh under 2kg — considerably lighter than the sacks sold at most garden centres.
• When does my first box arrive?

  We dispatch within three working days of your order. Royal Mail Tracked 48 typically delivers within two further working days, so most customers receive their first box within a week.
• I'd like to give this as a gift — how does that work?

  Our gift option covers four deliveries across the year — one per season — sent straight to the recipient's address. You pay once (£89.96) and we handle everything else. When you purchase, there is also the option to include a short personal message from you to the person receiving the gift.
• Do you need any special feeders for your food?

  No — our food works with standard hanging feeders and bird tables.
